About Me

Dr. Gideon Boadu is a qualified teacher with many years of experience in teaching and research in initial education programs. Originally from Ghana, he has held previous positions at higher education institutions in Ghana and Australia, notably the University of Cape Coast, Ghana, Excelsia College, Sydney, Ikon Institute of Australia, and the University of Newcastle, Australia. 

Gideon has taught across early childhood, primary, and secondary initial teacher education programs in Ghana and Australia, making him an experienced and versatile academic across multiple contexts. Alongside teaching, he has developed several courses for multiple higher education institutions. He is a curriculum expert with demonstrated experience in innovative design, implementation, and evaluation. His passion lies in the advancement of initial teacher education in Australia, Ghana and Africa as whole, and he finds deep satisfaction in facilitating the preparation of high-quality future teachers and supporting history teachers and students. 

Gideon’s research interests revolve broadly around teaching and learning, with particular focus on teachers’ disciplinary and pedagogical reasoning, history education, initial teacher education, curriculum studies, and educational technologies. Through his research, Gideon seeks to consistently contribute to the advancement of knowledge, policy, and teacher expertise across various contexts.
